I would just direct the executive to continue paying the bills, per section 4 of the 14th, and veto the bill. That ought to do it.

If Obama did that he would lose most of the independents come next year. I’m sorry but the president has to govern from the center and not from the offices of MoveOn. It’s not going to happen. Americans, Including Republicans, Want Debt Compromise.
