The only time I flew on a cargo plane was to land on an aircraft carrier on a C-2. Being yanked to a stop in three hundred feet was not fun.

Our (Army) commander made 1-star and went through a multi-service “Charm School”. He was very impressed with a carrier landing, but said the wildest thing was a run with the Coast Guard SAR boats out of Cape Disappointment. They cancelled training on his first try because the weather was too nice.
