I’ve seen enough of those BP ads. Watching them, and watching the feed from the spill site, would induce cognitive dissonance vertigo in anyone who tried to believe the ads about how green BP is.

The rest of the oil industry has a clue about safety. Exxon wasn’t able to fire their drunken skipper, because being a drunk and driving a supertanker isn’t a crime, it’s a disability. For real.

But at least Exxon did what it could. They hired him instead to cash his paycheck monthly, and didn’t put him back at the helm.
