I am not comparing anything. 96% of the human and chimpanzee DNA is “similar” overall, but there are some very significant differences in some chromosomes, and other chromosomes are “nearly identical.”

Neanderthal DNA is 99.7 percent identical to modern human DNA, with Humans having 1 to 4 percent “the same” DNA as Neanderthals.

I don’t know the difference between “identical” and “the same” in terms of DNA, but apparently there is a difference.
