Well your response is classically clueless and could not be further from reality.
The point I am making was that being a conservative has to be broader than the traditional “returning to Judeo-Christian values” position.
There is no return.
We are dealing with a population (not just Muslims) who do not hold nor ever held any Judeo-Christian values. While Bobby Jindal’s conversion is remarkable I have a hard time believing that the GOP is going to make any electoral inroads via conversion to Christianity. Now having said that, my issue is wether there is a place in the conservative movement for Muslims. Under the points that SanFranciscoZionist made upthread, I clearly think it is possible. But if you and other like minded people are going to continue to view all Muslims as extremist Islamist then I think we will only server to eventually marginalize ourselves out of existence.
