Interesting. Any way you slice it, there is a disturbingly large number of people who believe in irrational conspiracy theories.

On a related tangent, recent psychiatric research has discovered that a surprisingly large percentage of people have experienced hallucinations, delusions or other thought disorders. Alex Jones is clearly a raving paranoid. It should be surprising to learn that a majority of Nirthers and Twoofers have similar psychiatric conditions.

I sometimes wonder whether AJ actually believes this stuff or not. The only reason I say that is that there are so many conspiracy theories that are in direct conflict with each other (faked moon landing vs. astronauts seeing alien bases when they landed on the moon is just one, but there are lots and lots of others) and he seems to give all of them attention. But maybe your right and his particular wiring is set up to handle holding two opposite points of view concurrently.

Nevertheless, his audience craves the anarcho-populist message because of their unimaginably strong perceptions that the world is spinning out of control and there may be some legitimate illness involved.
