One lie the Apollo denialists like to tell is that the time delay from here to the Moon would be several minutes long, making it impossible to carry on the real time conversations in the official record. I challenged one to look it up on this smart-phone. He did so, and flat out lied to me about the results. This is a classic example of the Dunning-Kruger effect. These clods have no idea how obvious this lie is, because they don’t know how widespread and well-attested things like knowledge of the distance to the Moon are. (The ancient Romans knew the distance to the Moon, having observed the Earth’s shadow during eclipses to determine the relative sizes of the two bodies, then applying Eratosthenes of Alexandria’s measurement of the Earth’s circumference.)

What, seriously? Jesus, how do they manage to get through a day without walking into traffic or shitting their pants randomly?
