Treason, no, but it’s apparently a serious breach of chain of command. It may have the right outcome, but I’m not so sure I’m on board with “the end justifies the means”.

If the breach of chain of command is real, then a public court martial may make sense. I’d be rooting for an acquittal, of course, but getting the justification for acting behind Trump’s back on an official record would be worth it.
