Abdulhakim Muhammad had recently returned from Yemen carrying a fake Somali passport. Those facts indicate he was indeed motivated by his religion and he was not acting alone. He went to Yemen for something, right? And somebody gave him the fake passport.

I’m no international diplomatic genius, but I wouldn’t be surprised if the Somali passport was just a stick figure on the back of an empty Dorito’s bag..
