Now the GOP is really stuck between a rock and a hard place…they cannot be sure that Trump will not go third party if they cross him.

CNBC isn’t the GOP, though. It could be that Trump just doesn’t want to be in that Debate and is looking for a reason to avoid it. The CNN article Lidane just posted mentions that.

It could also be that Trump wants to force other candidates to dance to his tune or have the debate seem irrelevant because he isn’t there.
