There are people who are FROM here who aren’t rednecks. In fact, I’d argue that most of the people from here are not the stereotypical ignorant right wing redneck. Granted, there are a lot of those sorts(Hell, I live next to a huge family that lives in their own self proclaimed “compound”, rednecks and proud of their ignorance), but they are mostly considered an embarrassment. Funny thing is, here in metro Atlanta at least, is that most of the people you meet here are from other parts of the country. I found that to be true when I lived in Florida too.
