Well I have one worry beyond the obvious here. 50ish comments about Trump, thousands of tweets, millions of clicks and all of it distraction. “Cause all this energy directed at Trump is energy that would otherwise have been used to vet the rest. Policy, prospects, things said and things done or not done.

All the rest owe him a big wet sloppy kiss for taking the heat off them.

Three observations. 1) Policy based vetting as you describe doesn’t happen, with or without Trump. 2) It is difficult to imagine what possible relevance such analysis might have in an era where the primary political issue in the US is simply whether one supports GOP ignorance and malice or opposes it. 3) Trump is the front runner and it is frankly difficult to see how he loses the GOP nomination if he keeps to his formula of giving the base exactly what it wants.
