I sm fairly leftist/socialist in my orientation, but my oldest daughter, who is studying political science in Lille,France, is so leftist that even I feel compelled to try to rein her in a bit and stress the role of markets (as a mechanism, not an ideology)

She can read Adam Smith — but not the modern expurgated version of The Wealth of Nations that leaves out all the non-free market stuff.
