And I’m not sure we’d want them send the Syrian rebels help. There’s the risk of some of that gear being captured and ending up smuggled to Iran (possibly thence to China).

Just send in a few hundred pallets of para dropped AK’s, RPG’s, shoulder SAM’s & ammo from the C-5 fleet with appropriate escort. Giving the Rebels a pile of IED’s based on Iranian designs would be appropriate karmically as well. Depending on the captured stockpile, most of it could be PRC (Norinco) manufactured to begin with ;)
