Great. It’s not like our intel has been wrong before - particularly on Iran and other totalitarian and closed regimes. It’s not like our enemies are simply sitting still and wont have the kinks worked out of their systems sooner or later.

What is the harm in getting the missile defense system up and running to protect against a missile that doesn’t come? That’s certainly far better than the alternative - having a bolt from the blue strike Europe with deadly consequences and not having fielded the very system that could have prevented deadly consequences.

It’s a seriously compromised decision on Obama’s part, and I have to wonder what Obama is getting in return for not fielding the system from the Russians or the Iranians. That can be the only real explanation here, and I have little trust in either to keep their end of the bargain.

Obama is getting exactly the same thing he got when he agreed to meet with the Iranians who specifically said they will not discuss the nuclear issue:
