re: #777 Mad Al-Jaffee

One of my Facebook friends (NOT Afrocitybrown) posted that she is playing at a parade in Takoma Park, MD (pretty much the Berkeley of the east coast) on July 4th and her performance is a celebration of Pete Seeger. One of her friends commented that they should pass out flyers about nominating Seeger for a Nobel Peace Prize. I guess if Gore and Arafat got one it makes sense, but why the hell do I have friends like this? I guess it’s part of being a musician.

One of the more instructive moments I’ve had in many years came post- 9/11, when many of my liberal friends who had otherwise found it in their hearts to love me all these years, found out I was not a moonbat. They were disillusioned, outraged, and apoplectic. Meantime I had known their sympathies all along and was willing to overlook it.

Who is the more open-minded?
