These people are idiots. The 14th Amendment did not create Birthright Citizenship. Birthright Citizenship has been baked into English Common Law since long before there were any Englishmen in the Western Hemisphere. All the 14th Amendment did was make it clear that it applied to former slaves. There are no more people in the United States who were born as slaves, so the Amendment could be repealed now and it wouldn’t change a Goddamn thing. Birthright Citizenship would remain, just as before.

Then I’m curious what the logic is of the judge in Texas supporting the state not issuing birth certificates to children born to non-citizens.
