I hope so but they’re going to have to convince their voters of that. Hopefully Trump not having the bully pulpit will wake some people up to what a fascist he is.

Republican voters have shown a rather amazing ability over the last quarter century or so to completely forget about anything and everything that said they believed in the prior election cycles.

Dole got memory holed for GW Bush, who then got memory holed/No True Scotsmaned for McCain, who got the same treatment for Romney, who then got Trumped. If there’s anything that resembles a GOP establishment left after this, if they deem someone the next in line, you’ll see a lot of Republicans get fall in order for that person. There will likely still be an intraparty war with residual Trumpers, but I suspect a lot of ardent Trump supporters are going to suddenly claim that they didn’t really support him that much and [weasel words] and yadda yadda yadaa…
