To be brutally honest, my reaction to the whole story can be summarized in four letters:

YAWN

I mean, a politician cheating on his wife with a woman almost his own age is somehow newsworthy?

As distinct from, say, cruising toilets for anonymous sex with men, using interns as vacuum cleaners, renting top-dollar escorts on the taxpayer’s dime, having one’s homosexual lover run a rent-boy prostitution ring from one’s apartment, molesting children,…

Maybe it’s because I grew up in Europe, but I really have a hard time getting worked up over this one… The only times the non-tabloid media even discussed a politician’s sex life were when it got either illegal (child molestation) or really bizarre, such as when an MP was found dead after an auto-erotic asphyxiation session went too far…
