I just don’t see that happening. Consider Israel’s position; if they help the rebel groups, Assad and Iran and other Arab regimes will find a way to blame Israel for all the uprisings against the dictators in the region. It would be construed as a foreign attack on the regimes, instead of a homegrown uprising.

As it is, Iran’s busy scapegoating Israel for all that ails the region.

Still, it is interesting that some of the rebel groups, including those in Libya are contemplating better relations with Israel.
