What if she had had the number of embryos reduced? Would some of those who are against her giving birth to eight condemn her for that?

I wouldn’t condemn her, in that case — if she and her husband were truly determined to have eight more kids, it would’ve been objectively safer from a medical perspective to attempt four successive twin pregnancies than to risk one octuplet pregnancy. In other words, my position is not that “eight kids is too many,” but rather than “eight fetuses in a single pregnancy is too many” — it puts ALL EIGHT unborn babies plus the mother at increased risk of serious health problems.
