If the stock market stays chugging as it is, I doubt we will remember them in a year.

But here’s the rub. The stock market is showing stability and if it continues, coupled with the positive news today vis a vis the housing sector, soon followed by the job market, THE problem wioll be that most of the stimulus is scheduled to be spent AFTER the recoveries (when there will be no need for it ) needlessly spending money we don’t need

Good point, although I suspect not all of it will be, and I see that many banks in particular are saying they plan to pay back sooner rather than later.

Other things like infrastructure; roads and sometimes bridges to nowhere probably will be spent, but the other side of the coin is that we will in many cases have to spend it anyway.

It would be interesting to see how this somewhat optimistic market would react if all pending stimulus money was suddenly revoked.
