…nearly half of Canada’s incarcerated FEMALE population. Women are maybe 10% of the prison population.

(Indigenous male people are also overrepresented in Canadian prisons, but not to the same extent.)

I feel like we have more in common with Canada than I realized.

It’s the poorest and most abused people who wind up in our prisons too.
