saw one a couple of weeks ago….4 door hardtop…never been restored…he was down in ABQ from Pueblo before it finally konked out…would not start, no fuel….hahaha!…friggin VW

Damn hard to stop though. A friend had a Baja Bug in high school and no matter the problem, we could always nurse it home if need be. The rocker arm shaft busted loose on one side of the engine once and we managed to drive it another 20 miles on two cylinders to get home. Replaced the busted bolts that had been holding it on and it ran like new. If you thought that 1200cc engine was gutless with 4 cylinders…
