Yup; I’m within the zone for New Madrid, even though I’m in middle Illinois. The big concern there is what happens when the next “big one” comes and all those cities that built up on the Ohio River start to go *into* the river.

Let’s put it this way, a repeat of 1811-12 would be very bad, to put it mildly. I suspect you’d have a ton of destruction as far north as Milwaukee, and as far south as Baton Rouge. There’s no way that even Chicago is immune to it.
