Griftwald called it a “licensing fee”…I didn’t know he owned the rights to Edward Snowden.
He’d have the license to any interview he created. It’s not unseemly for a reporter to charge money for an interview when he’s the only one who can get access. The amount of money is a little high, but it’s nothing really that shocking in terms of making money as a reporter.
It is kind of weird in terms of activism, though.
