Obama is playing and pandering to so many distinct constituencies that he can’t keep track of his position from day to day. He had to back the military and CIA on this one because he’s already ruffled feathers with his calls to cut military tech purchases, and the war with the CIA over the interrogations continues and the CIA pushback wasn’t expected by the WH, even though it was obvious that a bureaucracy like the CIA will always look to protect its own.

One day Obama panders to the ACLU/Answer/Code Pink far left, and the next he realizes he’s got to back the military. It’s so bad it will give you whiplash.

That’s why everything this President does comes with an expiration date. He can’t help himself.
