plato discusses this very thing in the Statesman. There’s a great reversal in the rotation of the heavens right at the end of the age, when things have fallen into utter disarray. Then, Chronos from his tower sees the chaos and, grabbing the great steerboard of the cosmos, turns the entire thing back around again - back to the golden age.
