Oh, I know. You would never get something like that through the Legislature. Your only hope would be a Constitutional Convention. Imagine what a clusterfuckthat would be. We’d certainly not be able to get something as enduring as our Constitution has been. We’re on our way to 300 years under it. I don’t know if we’ll make it, though. Lots of dark water and storm clouds around these days.

I don’t think a Constitutional Convention could even be held these days. The nation is simply too polarized to come together on matters of great import. It would either fall apart or result in civil war.
