One of the big problems wasn’t included in that infographic. Somalia is a huge reservoir of polio cases, and no functioning public health system at all. It’s an outbreak of major proportions, and from there cases could spread to elsewhere on the horn of Africa.

Yep. And they definitely don’t want outside intervention. Doctors Without Borders was actually forced to flee Somalia recently because their staff was constantly being threatened and attacked for years on end and it finally got too dangerous to stay.
