Remember that Trump’s election was a bit of a fluke. He got a lower percentage of the popular vote than Romney did, and only managed to squeak in because Hillary was the most unpopular major party nominee ever other than Trump himself, and Trump had the help of the Russians, the mainstream media and Comey. Its unlikely the stars will perfectly align for the GOP nominee in 2020 as they did for Trump last year.
