I’m an Obama supporter and will be in 2012 but his programs for the foreclosure have been weak and he hasn’t really addressed this in a long time. Sad to say that I and others have profited off of it by buying homes and renting them. Being self employed and having to prepare for retirement, rentals are the only way to invest. More and more people are looking for rentals because they can’t qualify now or can’t afford the upkeep of maintaining their own home. All I know, I never have to advertise and usually find a renter on the day I put the ‘For Rent’ sign out. And this is Oklahoma, and we didn’t have the large foreclosure problems that some states had.

Nothing wrong or immoral about being a landlord, especially if you keep the properties up and treat your tenants right, because people need shelter.

There’s a big difference between a landlord and a slumlord.
