Has Jesse White stated why he won’t sign the papers? Cause from where I sit, Blago is still the Govenor of Illinois - he hasn’t been indicted, arrested or impeached yet and, apparently under relevant law, the Govenor does have the right to appoint somone to take Obama’s seat until, I think, 2010.

White has declined to sign the certificate, siding with some Senate Democrats who say Burris should not be seated because of the cloud over Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich, who is accused of trying to sell President-elect Barack Obama’s Senate seat.
