Yes I’ve seen some of those academic/theological arguments, but they are irrelevant to the reality.

I know how it is interpreted and quoted by the loudest of the preachers in Islam. Your academics are irrelevant in that context unless you are going to stand up there and argue with them in a mosque in Mecca.

And it was irrelevant to argue against the Catholic church during its heyday, too— what’s your point? It doesn’t point to anything about Islam as a religion being different. They need Enlightenment values to knock religion off its pedestal, like we had.
