Seriously, Ace, you don’t think moving headquarters to avoid taxes is something that weakens national sovereignty? It’s fine for Halliburton to grow as a US corporation, taking advantage of all the US has to offer a corporation, and then simply move to avoid taxes— and that’s not something that threatens sovereignty?
What about flagging ships in Panama, even though they’re owned by wholly-owned subsidiaries of US corporations? What about US corporations building factories in countries specifically to avoid US regulations for workers? In what ways is a US company that specifically wants to avoid US regulations while profiting from other aspects of being in the US not opposing US sovereignty?
