Hamilton is the definition of how the winners write history. His party died out as you know and he wasn’t the most likable person but you’re right, he doesn’t get enough credit for his virtues.

It’s also that Hamilton was unable to run for president (having been born in the West Indies) and thus did not benefit from the focus American history typically places upon the president.
