Meanwhile I keep seeing this retweeted and want to go bang my head into a wall. The concept of “realistic dreaming” versus “pipe dreaming” and how many people want to ignore the difference between the two is frustrating.

What we’re seeing right now with Trump is the consequence of people on the left and the right thinking that they have to hold on to their purity. People on the left who decided that Clinton and Democrats weren’t pure enough. People on the right who thought that Trump represented their pure conservative interests. In both cases their purity blinded them to how government works.

The only difference between the two sides is that Republicans have made purity their party platform, but it’s a purity not too different from blood purity.
