Remember all those liberals who drove around circa 2001 with bumper stickers that said “Joshua Bartlett is MY President”?

I’m beginning to understand them a little more. I find myself fighting a strong - and dangerous - temptation to make-believe that this isn’t actually my government, that I can just ignore it and it’ll go away.
