I believe so as it basically just sets the processor and memory to run faster. That board I mentioned is designed for overclocking and even has it down to simple bios settings, an included utility and buttons on the board. It can also unlock cores, so you could buy a dual core and get lucky and end up with a working tri or quad core.

Just to explain that - when AMD does their quality tests they start at the top and work down. They’ll test the cpus until they get their quota and then dump all the rest to the next lower standard. As soon as they have enough quad cores, all the rest get tested for tri core, so there could be a functioning quad core in the bunch. They do that for clock speeds as well.
