IIUC, we can get a $6,426 subsidy on the $7.814 a year we can be charged for silver (1,800 per person deductible & 20% co-pays after that - for example 20% of whatever a doctor’s office visit is. And I have to pay that at the time of the visit. Broke? No doc. Hooray for ACA!!!)

So, we can pay $1,388 a year for the privilege of paying through the nose all year in a death by 1000 cuts.

Most doctors will bill you for the copay if you cant pay that day.
I am sorry to hear that you are having issues finding a good plan, but honestly what you have cited doesn’t sound half bad.

We pay more than that for an employer based plan and we still have copays and deductibles as well.
