Yup same happens in every movement but I would not have smeared all civil rights activists in the 60s so I’m not going to do it now. They literally did the same thing with the NAACP and other groups that would now make folks clutch their pearls in disbelief. It’s the same shady playbook and the media doesn’t get a pass for it and allies should consider more nuance in my opinion.

I wouldn’t expect you to, and most of us are smart enough not to smear all conservatives with the sovereign citizens groups (though it’s perfectly valid to go after them for not condemning those groups). But, it’s real easy, if you’re looking for a way to shift blame to groups you oppose, to lump them in with a violent group.
