Also think the storyline is really intriguing. Not just an evil guy or people out there, but something weirder.

Thought at first they were trying to mimic the true life story of the three kids murdered in West Memphis, Arkansas (the case of the so-called Satanic Ritual murders). And that might underlie the story a bit, but its going in a rather different direction than that.

Narrowing the focus to one main character instead of 7 like TD2 did, also helps.

Also watched The Bodyguard series on Netflix. That was quite good.

Yea, yeah I got the West Memphis 3 vibe too. And I agree the focus is much better this time. And honestly I’m not big on Vince Vaughn as a serious actor and while I like Colin Farrell, I feel his strength is in dark comedy.
