I went shopping today and asked the checkout clerk “Do you have to work tomorrow?” She made a face and said yes, she had to work.

I said, “But you’re getting overtime pay, aren’t you?”

She said she was getting time and a half.

I didn’t ask if she was given a choice to have the day off, or now. But time and a half is still better than Walmart.

Working retail suck for the holidays. At least she’s getting overtime pay. Many people don’t even get that.
