Yeah Carter was pretty grim his whole presidency. Not particularly an endearing figure in the 70’s. Can see why he lost. But he’s had a great post-presidency.

My favorite story on Carter is Tip O’Neill visiting the WH and there not being any booze. “You know, Mr. President, we won.” I mean Jimmy’s a good person and I’ll stress everything the religious right that propped up Reagan said Reagan was when it comes to his actual family values but not really the Happy Go Lucky type that Clinton and Obama are.
