I got rid of all the carpeting in my house, now have wood or laminate flooring throughout, with some very cheap area rugs that I can simply toss when they get too yucky.

Have you ever pulled up a carpet in your house and seen what’s underneath?

Once, when we had a cat that suddenly went psycho after five years of perfectly acceptable behavior. I pulled up a corner of the dining room carpet, and ended up sealing the concrete to contain the damage.

Most of our downstairs is tile and wood, and the master bedroom carpet is on borrowed time, thanks in part to Mrs. Texan’s spending spree late last year and delayed further by the economy. I just can’t get excited enough to drop the money when I may need it for cheap cat food and other meals. ;)
