Conservatives like to talk about “the dignity of work”, but when it comes to work as a source of human dignity vs. labor as a commodity to be bought and sold at the cheapest possible price, then the latter wins hands down.

And how can labor impart dignity if it too poorly paid to allow a breadwinner to feed and educate a family and give them a chance at a better life
