The value to the handicapped person of the parking space where they need it, when they need it, is considerable. The other parking spaces may be 50 yards out, and on a windy, wet, or icy day, that can be insuperable for a handicapped person.

The inconvenience to everybody else amounts to merely this: each person must park some fraction of one space further from the store entrance—-details depend on how many parking rows are in play.

It’s not even worthy of an argument. It’s called courtesy.

Besides, who is he to know the conditions of the handicapped person? Like you said, the weather could be bad outside. Or the person could simply rely on using a cart to lean on while the shop and keep their balance, or someone who plans to use one of those electric cars that some stores have. There could be an enormous amount of health reasons why someone might need a handicapped parking spot. If several spots have to be given up for that cause, then who gives a fuck. Be fucking happy that you’re healthy.
