This farce has lasted long enough. The justified indignation over Williamson’s egregious views is being used to taint the Pope although the Pope’s actions were intended to bring the SSPX under control and to prevent the future ordinations of people like Williamson.

To understand the issue, it is necessary first to understand what a revocation of excommunication means. Well-intentioned lizards may found out here: What The Revocation Means. Essentially, it means that the SSPX still do not have the approval of the Pope or any other authority in the Church. The SSPX is still NOT in communion with the Pope!

Secondly, this move by the Pope has enabled the Vatican to start exerting authority over the SSPX which has been forced to make this concession because of the revocation. The authority has already started being exerted by the Vatican which has forced the SSPX to sack Williamson from his post as rector of an Argentine Seminary:

Apart from this, the SSPX has conceded its power to ordain ministers without the authority of the Pope.

The very move which everyone is criticising the Pope for making is instrumental in preventing the SSPX from appointing and ordaining anyone like Williamson - whose views were known long before the revocation but which were only exploited by the MSM after the recovation was publicised. If the Pope were to reinstate his excommunication, all these concessions of the SSPX to the Vatican would be lost and the SSPX would be free to maintain its ideas and appoint such uncongenial personnel.
