They lost me a bit earlier when they moved from the housewares, tools, and things-you-couldn’t-get-elsewhere model, to the standardized trendy clothing model. Their profits went up, but it didn’t last.

I’ve been spending some time lately wondering if there is such a thing as an economy that can be robust while emphasizing more expensive, quality goods that will last over cheap disposable crap, or if we’re just all doomed.
