When a Republican finally loses the Electoral College but wins the popular vote (let’s say, by a fairly substantial margin, like Hillary in 2016) the EC will be gone in one of the fastest Constitutional amendment processes anyone’s ever witnessed.

When was the last time a Republican won the popular vote anyway?
